Scott day St. Anton - part two

bags, clothing, goggles

Insert: 18.02.2013
In the second part we look at the products of the category ski goggles, backpacks and clothes, which the company Scott prepare for next season. News are really enough, so we definitely look forward to.

Result of a collaboration with the brand Snowpulse are backpacks R.A.S., ie Removable Airbag System. The main advantage is that you can use this backpack all year round and you can have bags of different sizes, brands and change the airbag system as needed. Last year Scott introduced the model Air 30 RAS. The innovation is its smaller variant with 20 liters volume.

The backpack has one chamber, which is further divided for avalanche gear. Unlike other Snowpulse backpacks airbags are not partly collapsed in the shoulder straps, so they take up little more space in storage. The advantage is more pleasant wearing and lighter system. 20 liters is enough for daily riding, but we cannot put there more than shovels and probes, so personally I would recommend rather the 30 liters variant. Skis can be mounted diagonally and vertically, there are also others loops (for ice ax).

As for clothing, the main novelty was the introduction of Gore-Tex for the new generations. Compared with the previous version used since 2007 should be the material up to 28% more breathable (depending on the type and number of pockets, seams, etc.) and also more resistant and durable. Clothing of this series is intended as an outer layer in extreme conditions.

A novelty is the ski goggles Scott LCG model with interchangeable lenses. The great advantage of the system is that we can replace the glass with gloved hands for a few seconds, so there is no problem to replace very quickly. Glasses will be available with two different types of glasses in the package, differentiated into three categories according to the lighting conditions. Other interesting thing are the two plastic screws on the bottom of the frame, which goes adjust its shape in four different positions, so you can set your goggles to fit your face. Goggles are really comfortable and fit well, have a wide lens, which not restrict peripheral vision. They will be available in several color combinations, so do not worry that you will not blend in with your jacket.
