Thanks to our partnerhip with skialpshop.cz we had a chance to test some equipment from French backcountry brand Arva. Here is a test of backpack Arva Rescurer 27. I am so amazed by this pack that I decided to leave it for myself.

During the season we had a chance to test some equipment from backcountry brand Arva, which many of us are familiar with. For those who are not aware of this brand, it's a French company engaged in the production of avalanche safety equipment and equipment for outdoors. All the equipment we were able to test thanks to the cooperation with skialpshop.cz, for which I would like to thank. But now lets get to the actual review of backpack Arva Rescurer 27.

As its name suggests it is a backpack containing 27 liters for stuff. This is making this backpack more suitable for one day trips to the backcountry. The external processing seems to be very durable and has beem made from a solid and waterproof material. There are high quality seams, which are doubled in exposed areas. The back part of the backpack is made of hardened material and backpack also serves as a back protector. And that it protects very well, I can confirm from personal experience. A non-removable waist belt which some people may see as a drawback  and reduce the variability of the backpack it is not from my perspective making any inconveniences. The hip belt is containig a loop for  climbing equipment. Chest belt is certainly on the back and is containing a whistle for emergencies.

An important feature of bags for being in the backcoutry is the ability to store avalanche shovels, probes and kits (if you wear any) and quick access to this equipment. Here I was pleasantly surprised by the Arva. All these needs are very rapidly under the back pack, in a special section designed just for rescue equipment. In this pocket are also pockets specilay designed for shovel, probe and a first aid kit. Access to all is immediate and is made by "stripping" back  yellow loops. Zip is interrupted in the middle at the top of the jerk and cut ties immediately get into the backpack (see Photo 3).

Regarding the internal processing of the bag I was not surprised and is mostly mediocre. It consists of two main pockets and one small zipper pocket on top for the location of small things (see Photo 4). Here I would prefer to see a little insulated bag for wet clothes.

Another important part of mounting options are also snowboard and ski in the backpack. This backpack allows mounting skies as well along the diagonal attachment (see Photo 5). Mounting snowboard is a classic vertical. Here, I appreciated the opportunity to hide all the loops and hooks inside the bag during the normal wear.

That would be all about this backpack. My experience with this backpack is very good. I would even say it's the best one day pack I've ever had. You can use it in both winter and summer tours or simply for casual wear. If you have any questions feel free to write to jiri.zelinka at powderline.cz.
