The story behind the photo
Once upon the time

So there you have it. Season 2010/2011 my friends! Finally! Let’s go remember a few moments from last season of our lens and warm up for that, which is behind the door. A lot of photos is connected with a long, interesting story... Their stories fascinate me and I’d like to share some of ours with you.

First trip of season in early december to Solden in Austria, extended weekend with Bayer and Máca. First regular skiing is really intensive... Not much snow, but pow. Under snow are sharks, but we enjoy that to the max. Especially to David falls into the eye this rock with less severe landing. After that, when he hits it for second chance is David enlightened and wants to safely exercise frontflip. Actually it was first from a rock. With suspense we watch his radical inrun. Camera takes photos, headcamera is shooting, david goes over head and ... BANG! Only a little of his kinetic energy is moving smoothly down. Actually only the headcamera is... Applause, David is sitting and viewing (as he said) green world. It was fun but now is our headcamera missing somewhere in pow.We start looking for a fart in a whirlpool... Camera price plus incalculable value of non-backed shots motivates us for 3 hours of drudgery. We find the camera and is well.
Before Christmas we spent a week in Laax, Switzerland. At the end of our stay options seemed to be exhausted, low energy and chill was cruel... We didn’t want from the heated apartment but I had the line in my head, which sayed about taking some pictures... We had to move over whole resort, leg it there half an hour, then back and the conditions were uncertain. We overcame us. We timed it on midday, when I hoped the crust will be freshly softened. Nevertheless the snow was frozen with thin crust. From place where David was taking photos I thought it’s no problem... But when I stood above the slope I had no idea... I was hoping I’ll enter it at the right place and drop there will be cool. I go, three arches, I can’t see the edge at all and it doesn’t seem good to me. I stop and I’m pi...d at myself for spoiling it. Then I traverse, finding an escape, of course there is none. I find a place, where the drop seems better. It’s nothing to wait for. I jump. I didn't manage it but I was relieved... I’m looking back, what should this be and I don’t get it. Anyway from that misery came my favourite photo, thanks to David. I ride traverse down toward the resort, which is behind a ridge. Under the couloir, which David wanted to ride throught, I’m waiting and fortunately I wait for him. Despite I’m not satisfied with the performance, it was a strong experience.
For weekend 23. – 24.1. we request a car at home (I have birthday..) and we go for snow way to Arlberg. It’s been a while from last snowing and it shows in resort as St. Anton. But when man takes a bit of work, in inexhaustible number of terrains will find good snow. We look for a couloir, which we traverse to from the other side of the ridge and then hike – climb a bit up. On the top it’s beautiful and the view down is magical. The snow looks good, we choose safe lines and go for it.
