It is mid-April , early Thursday morning and we are going for probably the last skialp this year. In the Czech Republic we have not much snow left, it rather looks like a nice spring. But in Austria there will be enough snow for sure. The valley station of the cable car to Enzingerboden looks very promising. The Rudolfshütte, where we moved by the cabin, we found a powder heaven! We packed out our climbing skinns and went for about an hour into the saddle Kalser Tauern. For our way down we chose one of the left couloirs which are leading out of the saddle. What a nice ride for a dinner. But after that we went for a real dinner and I must say that who did not experience a dinner at the Rudolfshütte, will not belive. I would say say that it is perhaps even better than the actual skiing.

  Friday morning and it is dumping and dumping. It is warmer , overcast and the snow is geeting wet . Today we do not expect any exclisive riding . So perhaps any food? Even so, we go and ride a very nice loong couloir . Snow a little heavy for riding , but otherwise very nice. For the way back we choose the radius around the lake Tauernmoos . So stick the climbing skinns and lets go up the hill . In the afternoon, the sauna and swimming pool. This is a good motivation to step on the pedals.

  On Saturday I woke up the sun rays shining through the curtains. When I had a look from the window, I do not believe my eyes. Not only bluebird sky , but twenty centimeters of fresh powder. So the summit day , Sonnblick is waiting ! And a thousand meters of altitude climbing over the glacier. We want to create your own signature to the snow before it completely disappears . I know the way up by heart and I cannot wait for it. Throughout the way we have a very nice slight climb just with several shorter steep parts. The problem is classically just under the cross. The sun is shinning so we take some time to enjoy the momments with a wonderful view all around from Sonnblick.

  Now comes the sweet reward ! One thousand meters of altitude completely in the powder. We chose the right side because it is steeper side of the glacier and each of has has its own line. Suddenly it does not even happen , thighs are on fire. So, with short breaks for a photo shoot we enjoy the endless ride down to the lake Weißsee . After returning to the cottage we all face burned beautiful Polish flag.
