BC daemons part 2
and powder again
The first 14 days have passed like a water, and we split with the Swede and Watson. Terrains I had already explored and so had little choice but to shoot some photographic material. Zetor is a buddy fot photoshooting, especially if he is motivated by a fermented beverage, which is highly valued article in Canada . We ere shooting each other as much as possible.
After the departure of the boys the champagnepowder started to fall down from the sky so we just waited until the sun will pop out and we can go into work. We were killing the time by fishing and playing on the PC. Unfortunately, during sunny days a crystalline layer of snow has been created and a lot of powder felt on it. So the whole month was reported avalanche danger number four. Consequently, we omitted some check points and drops.
Suns was at very low level but we were keep receiving the best powder on the planet. We decided to visit the mekka of backcountry skiing in BC - RogersPass. This resort is renowned for snowfalls, size and variety of terrain. Our first trip derail plans to blast a face by a patrol. Avalanche was threatening the highway, so we turned the direction of Golden with the hope that we will try tomorrow. In the morning we examined the situation on the Internet and the pass was closed again. Well the third time we got to the pass, where every visitor is obliged to purchase a daily admission and sign a sort of reverse. Ranger told us that is open only one part of the park and let them give out, thinking that a lot of snow felt recently. Zetor sent it to the toilet now appraising how it's laid out nicely to Rangers. W e were hiking probably less than 3 hours and had a deep snorkling 15min down, now what? ... and so again, that's I've got blisters on the heel came the idea and it makes me quite scared the third time to go up. In addition, we ran out of beer and other liquids so we chose a reconnaissance descent into the heart of the forest hope that we will find a fire-break. The fact that in Canada are growing thin spruces I knew from photos and movies, but that they can be ridden as wall ride because were buried up to a height of 5 meters I did not know. Ranger was right, it is deep in here. On the way down we enjoyed a faceshot after faceshot, just great. Considerable surprise was at the exit of the parking lot where the jam was standing in our direction. Hungry, we went to the local pub for the last dollars and ordered beer and pitchr hambs. A little scared us the idea that we will be stucket here till the morning, but then after three hours the jam just disappeared and we got finallz home.
RogersPass offers exteremely a lot of terrains but unfortunately we did not visit it second time. What would it be a ski trip to Canada, if we would not tried catskiing. We chose K3 catski piece for Revelstoke. It was a great experience, only we were 14 people in the snowmobile. Unfortunately there was no time or resources to arrange for a smaller cat for six people, where you can ride a powder much better. At least we ate and drank them what we could when it cost so much.
Six weeks is gone, and despite more favorable conditions, I am going to catch a plane to Calgary airport. KickingHorse with its varied terrain willr be remembered and I hope to once again climb the backside Ozone and see the valley below the town of Golden and send it to one of the many couloirs ...
I would like to thank the Zetor that arranged accommodation and providing super car. Marušce for her culinary art, which often almost in the oven on fire.
