Scott day in St. Anton
part one - ski boots
Scott has annouced new products for next winter seasson 2013/2014. This happened at St. Anton am Arlberg and Powderline was invited to this event. We had a chance to see and test products which are going to be introduced at ISPO. The conditions were excelent so we had a lot of time to test all gear.
In this first part we are going to introduce some of brand new ski boots.
Yes, correct. Scott has expanded the product portfolio and will produce complete set of gear for skiers, including boots. Scott has a long tradition in producing boots, since 1970 and in a connection with Garmont will be even stronger. Scott bought the intelectual ownership of some Garmond ski boots and fixed some issues. Now boots are on the better way to be a top freeride product. There are freeski, mountaineer and telemark models.
I have personally tested a freeride model Delirium 130. This is a boot following last high end standards, which means for freeride without lifts. In comparison with other model sof the touring line Mountain, Delirium has more advanced functions which is adding a bit of weight. This is not a „TOP GUN“ models in the Mountain line. Because for very demanding mountaineer there are stronger models.
This boot is a bit softer then I expected. It is doing its job in powder and also on a slope. I think it will point to the widest spektrum of skiers. The angle of boot is adjustable and Vibram sole is making you moves more confidet. Softness helps to feel every move and vibration of skis but in the moguls and difficult terrain might not provide enough support.
