YMLI came to being as a dream of one enthusiastic rider, who took a bunch of people using his attitude and energy, people, for who is snow the biggest life drug. From this attitude and a lot of lucky circumstances we get to stage, where we’d like to introduce this years’s portfolio of the brand. The core of development potencial of the new brand YMLI is fact, that the riders themselves are the management of products development and they’re fully supported by manufacturers. The ski production itself runs in cooperation with czech company SPORTEN a.s., which has more than 100 years of traditon in ski production and which enabled us to develop the skis together. The entire team will represent in the upcoming season Wiktor Galuška, Bára Možná, Lukáš Bilko and David Sedlák.

Portfolio of the skis for 2011/2012 season consists of 5 types divided into three categories: ALL-Mountain, BackCountry, BigMountain.

YMLI CODE

CODE skis in this category “ALL Mountain” are designed for all riders who enjoy ski slopes and are not afraid to explore new experience. This category is also specified by universal behavior, which nicely surprise on bumpy slopes and off piste. CODE has light wood core which reduced the weight and improve controllability. CODE skies have classic camber and therefore the load on both edges are equal as on the classic downhill skis thus a carving curve is not a problem.

YMLI ADELLE

Adelle skis gain features from both categories the ALL Mountain and the BackCountry. It’s a playful not demanding ski with twin tip set up dedicated to wide range of riders. Camber of these skis is set to „half” compared with the classic camber. This feature allows easy turns in deep snow in low speed.)

YMLI ALIEN

Alien is pure BackCountry ski. This category is dedicated to the widest range of riders. It is suitable for beginners who just want to try powder snow and of course for those who utilize its full potential. With low ski radiuses and rocker shape on tip and tail, is easy to veer and flow in any type of conditions and surface. Gravity centre point is moved more to the centre so the skis are very stable on BC jumps and tricks.

YMLI DUG

DUG combines attributes from BackCountry and BigMountain and that is why are placed in both categories. From the category BackCountry DUG takes over rocker and easy veering and from the Big Mountain gains stiffness and higher radius. All these specification makes the ski easy to ride, stable in high speed and capable for BM tricks. Rocker on the tip provides sufficient buoyancy in deep snow, which helps saving rider’s energy. Dug is for experienced athletes who are not afraid to ride in any conditions and seek the highest parameters of freeride skis.

YMLI BULLDOZER

Ski features in this category are characterized by stiffness, missing twintip, high radius, torsion stiffness, low rocker and finally length. Bulldozer skis combine all these technological features and predispose it to tough conditions. During development, we focused on torsion stiffness, which plays main role on landing. Skis are suitable for experts who are not afraid to push their limits and abilities on the edge in Big Mountain terrain. Skis present advantages mainly in durability - classic construction, which keeps the skis stable at high straight speeds.

The name YMLI is based on Norse mythology, where at the beginning were only cold and heat – there was nothing more than the bottomless abyss GINUNGAGAP. In the north was the empire NIFLHEIM – the world of dark fogs, ice and freezing cold, in the south MÚSPELHEIM, the world of hot flames red-coloured glow. When the heat began to affect the mass of ice in this bottomless emptiness, it set on fire the very first spark of life. From the drops of melted ice rose up the first being – the giant Ymli, the patriarch of all cold giants. These documents and mythology are used by our painter Lilian for creating designs and the world of Ymli.
