Freeride or censoring?

I decided to wrote this article after an avalanche of negative responses to our freeride “guide” for Vratna – Slovakia. This articlke is not against anybody. I just want to explain our attitude and idea of our webside powderline.cz
I was living in a dream that the mountains are here for all of us. I was riding at Vratna valley almost 12 years ago. In that time I have no idea about any lines at the valley and where to search for nice steep terrains. I have no idea how great people are riding there and sharing passion for riding a deep powder. Already at that times all “old school” riders said to me that If I wanted to ski a good lines at Slovakia I should visit Vratna or even better, Chopok. So I did. We chose couloirs by randomly and after couple of trips we skied almost every possible line.
And how the time went we established this website, for the support of sport which we love. We wanted to proof to the world that freeriding is not only for couple of crazy people who are jumping from the cliffs. Proof that freeride is not making differences between skis and snowboard and that freeride is not only for a chosen group of people. I also wanted to mention that we are not alone here. Also Vratna resort itself are making media and marketing plans based on freeride and skialpinism. Jasna – Chopok resort went even further and established freeride zones and Freeride School for people http://www.jasna.sk/sluzby/skola-ski-snb/sk/zima/. And what about FWQ event Jasna adrenalin which showed freeride zones to riders from whole Europe. Are they blamed for destroying freeride places at Slovakia? Are they under critics for ridden couloirs, forests and powder fields? Or even blamed for wrong decisions of people and the rescue actions.
I do not think so. Website powderline.cz/eu is NOT responsible for too many freeriders in the woods at Vratna. This is just a progress of this sport. And I am really grateful that I have a chance to ride at Slovak mountain. I have met a lot of great people and saw an incredible nature.
In this article I would like to ask you all to stop sending e-mails to our editors.Think about blaming powderline.cz/eu perhaps for something like "destruction" freeriding in the Slovak Republic and similar nonsense. Powderline.cz we are not only we, as we have tried to emphasize during the creation of this site. Foreword http://www.powderline.cz/detail/cs/clanky/slovo-uvodem
