WhiteLine , The Vogel resort in Slovenia
They will not catch us sober
A new winter season is waiting for us, but I see it as live. Our trip to the resort Vogel in Slovenia, where a video and photo shooting took place for a mad project. Everything started with a classic arrangement of a car, since the transporter was broken at that time. Finally we went by Lukas Niemczyk´s white Seat Ibiza. It was a hell to stack all the shooting and skiing equipment (unfortunately not all). But we succeeded and we could go in the evening.
But it was not just an ordinary way. We had a liter of brandy and then I only remember how we just could not hit the right exit from the highway and as if that were not enough, classically we broke down our car. Cracked alternator belt from a pledge ... We tried everything, from rope to the wire. Even classically we wanted to help by local cops as is our tradition. Fortunately we found some kind people who gave us new belt a we got back to the road.
Finally we arrived to the destination of our journey. Welcome to our beautiful town called Bohinj with an even more beautiful Bohinjski lake. So we arranged our accommodation and walking around the lake. Since there was a bad weather at the mountains, we decided to spend the rest of the day by drinking our beers and brandy.
The next morning we woke up to the same ugly day like yesterday. After breakfast we decided to made up some activity around the lake. Since skiing in the fog did not make sense. Me and Galas were around the lake and making some photos. We were waiting for guys who have returned and stated that the only good place where we could build a kicker is near the place where we are now. So we started building the kicker. Guys were jumping very nice tricks like 360s, 540s, flips and so. I do not know whose idea is was to stuff me into neoprene and send to ice water to shoot (felt like an icebreaker here). Fortunately thanks to Mr. RUM I did not freeze there. And so ended our next day, total productive day for a photos.
The third day morning, after waking up we had a shock. There was a fog again. But what, we have to look up to the mountains someone told at a breakfast. Also, yes, finally we went to ski. But it was not much to enjoy. Instead finding the right area and the selection of good locations to shoot, we end with a visibility of 3m and we spent whole day at the ski slopes. There was no possibility to ride the backcountry at all. So we went to the apartement and had a next night without dreams.
The fourth morning we were pleasantly surprised when we saw only couple of clouds around the summit. So we quickly finished a breakfast and went up. On the hill we were unpleasantly surprised when we saw the lack of snow and no free terrain to ride on. We went to the BC and tried to find some place where we could create something more. After the full resort check, we stumbled upon a hill in the highest part of the Vogel resort, where he had to walk on our own and thats why that part of a resort was untouched by any riders. Unfortunately, we were pushed by the time, so we said to ourselves to leave it on the last day. Down the resort we skied around a closed slope where was not much of snow, but it was nice to get to the parking. Evening is very tradicional, couple bottles of wine, some ski films amd plans for next day.
After we woke up to the last day of our trip we realize that the weather is really nice. So we made a quick breakfast and went to the mountains as we have planned last night. Guys were really hungry for dropping some cliffs so they push some very nice cliffs and it was very productive day for me as for photographer. This was only one day from open to close and it was worth. After coming back to the parking we were so tired. So we jumped to the car and went back home to Czech republic.
At the end I want to thank all the crew for great spirit of the tri and also to our sponsors the Vogel resort and Hudy sport.
