Slovakia Weekend vol 2
Insert: 03.02.2010
In the upcoming weekend he had to solve where to go for snow. Little while we were thinking of Japan, but after dialogue we make decision how else to Slovakia. Specifically for Vratna. Snow forecast was positive and promising decent powder bath.
On Saturday morning we have a date with Hungarian friend Michael, me and my sister got in to hes car and went to Vratna. On the way from Vratna, we get information from Wlado that Vratna resort is closed, so we have to change our final destination to Lucivna resort which is very close to Vratna. Lucivna is a small resort, with 3 lifts, certainly it is not so big as Vratna and everything looks the same as on Vratna , but everything without ques. So we looked forward to take a luxury rides.
Unfortunately, I was not able try these resort. Soon as we drove into the woods, it showed that under half a meter of powder no basis layer, and we were forced to spend the rest of the day close to close. Slope is long about 1300 meters and they said to be most steep downhill slope in Czechoslovakia. I must say that we finally have good day on the piste.
On Sunday, the lift on Vratna was released. Because Vratna resort is slightly higher than Lucivna, so this place looked a little better with the snow . On the tom was fog and snowing heavily. The upper woods part around the lift it was excellent, but in the below parts there was more rocks and it was not for someone who likes own skis . Anyway, we didn’t take care of our skis , so we skied it hard as well at the bottom. Yet I want to mention that where where we went we had avalanche Cut-off we try avoided trough but anyway we had few avalanches in the wood .Vratna resort is open only on weekends so you will get some next photo soon.
