The Farmers choosed Krippenstein for the homeresort this season. This austrian resort left an impression after last year visit! 300 km distance from Prague sounds better than 5 houres drive. Bought season passes makes the decesion making easier…
Here we go with first report made by 3 ski days in 2 visits. We made this pics with no photographer or a regular camera… Generel facts about ski resort: Located in Tauras, Salt chamber. Despite of the altitude only 2100 m. the vertical is 1500 m.! For an averige „on pist skiers“ there is not much to be offered – the more space for freeriders! There is pretty much the single pist, but 11 km long! You need to use two big cabine lifts to get to the top. One of the few weaknesses. You have to stand and squeeze…
The descend starts with short part above the trees, which slightly comes into a wood. It is a karst area which means you have to watch out for a holes! There is a pretty wide space (app. 1 km) with no need for a big traverses. Don`t worry about orientation – at least down, the traverse back on pist is well marked from the outermost edge. On a regular powderdays the whole area gets tracks quite quickly. It`s still one of a freeride mekkas.
Nice people and peace create that charm of this place. Hallstatt - the most beautifull town I have ever seen! Worth to visit…The prove of Krippenstein popularity are signatures in a Ski lodge on the top of a Krippenstein. Chris Davenport, Nimbus crew and many more!
