POWPOW trip - Puy st. Vincent
POWPOW trip - Puy st. Vincent
At the beginning of the January 2010 we had a chance to go to the magic country, full of fondue, wine, and fully covered to the powder. This country is waiting for riders who found a courage to ride those mountains, who are not writing but riding hard. So we visited France.
Our story took place on the slopes of a small center Puy St. Vincent, near giants such as La Grave and Les 2 Alpes. Resort I would like to size compared to the Slovak Chopok. It offers steep rocks covered with forests in the lower passages, the amount is then spread over undulating, open terrain, where they will come to their rider of any level. The real "big mountain" can be experienced at exit (when viewed from below) the right of the ridge leading to the big valley. When you return to the center of resort should be approximately 20-minute walk / travel. For the vast avalacnhe field terrains, we went there only once.
Hard to say whether it is in Vincent normal, but we have the conditions to a nearby extremely generous. There were nearly 2.5 meters of snow and it was snowing day after day, another ten to twenty centimeters, while the day was generally sunny, with temperatures slightly below zero. Ideal conditions for large droping and straight lines. Just a dream!
We were staying in the highest center apartments surrounding the outdoor, heated swimming pool-for most of us nightly refuge. Of course, we were not just in water, but also visited local bars and pubs. For locals normaly worth drinking wine, which is no more expensive than in Czech. But for staunch beer drinkers gets their wallet empty fast. The food we had bought own, and so only once not terribly overpriced bread, respectively baguettes.
