SCOTT Czech Ride 2010 starts the new season of FWQ
At the starting list there will be over 75 competitors from all over the World! All with the same desire to win. All will stand up against pitiless north face of Mount Rothorn in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
New year, new face, new level
After two successful years in Davos, Switzerland the SCOTT Czech Ride got into series of FWQ. This new challenge meant for the organizers to find a world-class racing mountain of the same level. Therefore, a relatively friendly face in Davos Weisfluhgipfel was replaced by rocky north face in the nearby mountains Rothorn Lenzerheide.
FWQ competition Vs. Czech Championship
Competitions on which riders can get points and which can catapult them among the absolute top, are for beginners a big problem. All the more when there are several dozen of competitors from different countries. There are about 20 FWQ races all around the world. To get on a competition like this is very hard expecially for a Czech rider. Rules are strict and points from world ranking mostly decides.
The SCOTT Czech Ride is mainly about Czech championship and therefore Czech organizators got the privilege to nominate up to 23 Czech riders. Thus the SCR can provide points to 23 Czech riders who will have thanks to this points even better presumption to get to the circle of FWQ. Announcement of a Czech masters Man and Woman is a tradition. Whether these posts from last the year defend champions Simona Hrstkova and David Knybel is a question.
Starting list across continents
To this date we received registrations from over two hundred competitors who are from all over the world. The broad range of nations we got used to from the last year in The SCOTT Czech, but this year has brought new participating countries. Therefore at the start can stand up riders from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Andorra, Croatia, Slovenia, Argentina, England, USA, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Russia, Ukraine and Holland.
Only in a few days the starting list wil be known. Organizers are confident that the selection is right and that 75 registered riders with a joy confirm they participation on this competition. We also hope that the large group of Czech riders will enjoy it.
Qualification and final, two runs - two faces
This year will be qualifying run and final run on two different mountain faces. Qualifying face, which is ready, correspond to the standards of other FWQ events. Is not extremly long, but it is rugged with an options for a large group of competitors. Those who in the eyes of judges show "that they got the edge ', will be able to start the next day at the final face which is not for everyone. The exact part of the face will be selected by judges and rescue team in order to ensure the safety of all riders.
Organizers are looking forward to see spectacle competition on the hill, which is although easily accessible to tourists but only a very small group of them get into its chuttes.
Race, like the previous ones will take place in the very heart of the area. Therefore, this year will not be only experience for riders themselves, but also for visitors of the resort. They will have all the exibition on the sight from the ski slopes, lifts, restaurants etc.
Kurhaus – a base of the event
The oldest hotel in Lenzerheide the majestic Kurhaus will become for five days of racing
the base camp of SCOTT Czech Ride. In its space riders meetings and parties will take place. Hotel itself has three entertainment clubs and one of them, TIC TAC Club, will be reserved for all of us. Anyway who likes party like
"Stodolní" can enjoy the night in several different areas of the hotel. Well, does it sound good enough to you? I think so!!
