Because the condition for a some proper trip wasn't pretty good, me and my brother decided to go there instead of hanging around and watching TV. So on Saturday 10.3. we are heading to Pustevny to take some pictures and spend the day with our friends. After arrival a bit frozen Martin Knybel was waiting on us and gave us some instruction what help with. While registration were finished last details and after a little delay the competition started.
Whole event was commented by speaker Miloslav “milion” Brzák and judges were Knybel brothers. Behind the ice bar covered whole event Aleš Zeman with his helpers who looked after happiness of viewers. First part of event was a jibbing jam which took place in upper part of the park. The most interesting object was the spine where riders did some backflips, handplants etc. and sometimes ski flew away. Riders mostly collected points for clean landing a and style of tricks which were performed during whole jam.
After a break took place the big air jam in bottom part of the park. Filip must paid a really lot, because the sky became blue and the competition gained different atmosphere. The jam ran around one hour. If I saw good, there I could see from snb category some tricks over head (frontrolls, backrolls, etc.) and max. rotation was 540. Skier performed a bit better level of tricks a I was able to see some 720 and variation of tricks over head, especially the guys from Ymli team. A related duo Souhradovi(brother and sister) was through the whole jam performing really good level and precisely prepared the park for the competition. For the final battle the sky went a bit cloudy, but the riders weren't disappointed at all and the show began. Best from the skiers were guys from Ymli team and very good level of riding performed Kristián Dluhoš. From the snb category I remember Souhrada siblings who were performing whole competition really good level of riding. The prizes were divided into 4 categories – snb under 18, ski under 18, ski over 18 and snb over 18. Jib jam and big air jam were judged separately so some riders have won twice.
In end of the day the ice bar was empty, the dusk was slowly coming and the over of HonkyTonk contest were here. It was quite a funny day with plenty friends a peace, The big thanks for Filip Paseka and his team for really good day on the hill.
